Raliegh Park and Manor Villages.

I just wonderd if people could post their experiences of these two places, as this year Notts was so over suscriped that many under grads were provided accomdadation at these residences. I went and saw the rooms, and to be honest they were proberbly the best id seen. Is it still very soicalble despite being 10 minute walk off campus? The fact that Raleigh park has an open JCR and is opposite the Manor Villiage flats really persuaded me to sign up, as the waiting list had abslutley no guarantee.

Il have first years above me and around, and be sharing the flat with a freind i know from school and 3 second year students.

Advice and experiences would be great! Cheers.

Again, it does help to go through all the other threads in this area you know.
Manor villages I haven't been too, i think it's fairly new so it's got mixed feedback.
Raleigh park, is alright, I'm not really a fan of it but if you're based on jubilee then it's obviously the right choice.
As for being socialable, like any self catered hall you've got to put in the effort to make friends.

Sounds great, i am lucky and got two of my freinds from around here into the same block , one in the same flat! Im in 10 Beardsall ( spelling? lol) I was worried about how secluded we would be from all the other freshers, but if theres a few of us around we should make it pretty exciting, open door at flat 10, come make yaselfs welcome! I heard we can also use thew JCR across the road at Raleigh park, so thats pretty nice to meet new people and chill too.

What rooms are you lot in, im waiting for the letter from the, the offical contract where we sign our lifes away and pay £250.

Manor = brand new, clean, just generally better.

Surprised so many of you freshers have applied to manor though, it must be a new thing they started this year. I lived in manor last year and living there again this year. I was in Breach last year and in Morel this year. last year there were hardly any freshers and im guesing there won't be much this year either because a lot of people from last year have re-booked lol.
I think it's because they are new and the place does look really snazzy judging from one of their leaflets I saw.

Well when we came up on clearing/insurance day we all panic booked there as that was the only place with definite spaces left. 83 to be exact. Didn't fancy being on some waiting list for a room elsewhere, just wanted to get it sorted.

i heard the deposit of 250 can be paid there.

and we just hav to pay the booking fee only.

well. i think its just for my case as im internationals

Raleigh have just finished a huge refurb so these issues should be gone now.

Is this the main reason why the prices have gone up from last year???

Example could be a 4 room Ensuite.. From £78 a week (07/08) to £90 a week (08/09)

im in beardsall aswell in flat 15, im a first yr aswell and been told that all the ppl in my flat are first yrs.

oh nice nice you will be living with one of my best mates , Dillon, me him and some Guy called Ahmed all moving up on the 20th. Il be your neighbor one floor down, where abouts ya from and watcha studying?
