so they say the bets way to be a good writer is to read and use the writers words and quotes
what is the oppropiate approche to learn the skill of writing
Other ways include: learning from 'how to write' type of books/ebooks/courses, lecturers teaching academic creative writing degrees, practical one-to-one teaching/feedback & mentoring from successful writers whose published work focuses on similar genres.

As with most things one wants to become proficient at, the secret is practice. Keep practicing, but learn from your mistakes. Learn to critique your own work - which often means writing something, re-writing it, coming back to it weeks later and re-writing again.

Reading as much as you can, but reading high quality texts (remember: rubbish in, rubbish out). Don't try and copy another writer's style, you need to find your own voice. This can take a long time, so you need to be very committed and patient.
