For our English AQA Coursework, we have to compare two texts for a specific argument. I need to come up with a question but can't find a specific point of comparison (I am doing Hamlet and Dr Faustus.) Any ideas welcome, thanks!

Hey there, how about 'Discuss the use of meta-theatrics in 'Hamlet' and 'Dr Faustus'"? You could look into the way Shakespeare and Marlowe use the 'play-within-a-play' structure to heighten dramatic effect. Specific moments point to the dumb show in Act 3 Scene 2 of 'Hamlet', and the scene in which the 'Seven Deadly Sins' are enacted in the style of a Medieval morality play in 'Dr Faustus'. That's one idea. Another one would of course be the role of tragic hero, for which you could consider what it is that makes Hamlet and Faustus heroic and tragic at the same time (i.e. what's their 'hamartia' / tragic flaw). For a detailed analysis on Hamlet's key soliloquies, this may prove useful: https://hyperbolit.com/2020/05/16/wh...ing-character/
