The latter. I don't believe I met any postgrads last year during freshers week but I didn't talk to everyone so there might have been a few. I'm sure postgrad have their own events, although no one will stop you from coming to the freshers week events :yy:

First year isn't the same for both courses, IFRM have a module called Financial Markets and Institutions and BIF have something like Banking and the City. Other than that it's pretty similar, if not the same, though.

Edit: In relation to freshers, the stuff organised by the SU is fine if you like RnB, there isn't much else. There are plenty of London freshers events at Fabric, Tiger Tiger etc. though. City certainly isn't renouned for wild parties, but in London you don't really need your uni to provide you with that.
