Is orthodontic treatment still on the NHS when you turn 18?

Hi

I got my braces when I was 16 and I am now 19 and still wearing my brace and I am wondering if I should and will have to pay for my treatment now as I am over 18 or is it still on the NHS? thank you

If you are continuing the brace treatment from age 16, it should still be under NHS charge. If in doubt, consult your dentist.

Ok, thanks for your reply. worried I’m going to be billed loads of money once the treatment is over, but figured as the treatment started before I was 18 it’s still free... also I was supposed to have them off a year ago but still needed work. Thanks again.

They've started so they'll finish they'd have to have talked to you about charges beforehand anyway so you won't get a surprise bill.
