Would medical sciences with criminology be a good degree to take?

I was considering changing my degree to do medical sciences with criminology as I would like a future job in forensics or science/medical law. I was wondering though whether this would be looked down upon when looking for jobs or further study.

Criminology has extremely little to do with forensics. Not slamming criminology (I have a joint hons in it), it's just unrelated.

I’m 35 so I’m very rusty and forgetful
however criminology is more to do with theories of crime and punishment, rather than investigation of crime.
Some typical UG criminology essays might include the following types of topic:
Why are black males over-represented in the criminal justice system?
Should women be imprisoned?
Why are homeless people over-represented as perpetrators of crime?
Things like that (amongst other things). It has quite a significant overlap with sociology (I’ve studied both separately in the past - sometimes it was like I was studying the same thing again).
Job prospects I’m unsure really. I was already in a full time (somewhat unrelated) career. A website like Prospects might help you better.
It’s not a necessary subject for entry into careers like policing or other areas of the criminal justice system, although it obviously wouldn’t hurt. It’s a very interesting field but not necessarily a direct route into forensics.
