Please could someone help me with this question?


The points A(1, 4) and B(5, 1) lie on a circle. The line segment AB is a chord. Find the equation of a diameter of the circle.

The perpendicular bisector of AB will give you a line which is the diameter of the circle.

The perpendicular bisector of a chord passes through the centre of a circle, and therefore is a diameter. So you work out the midpoint of the line and do the negative reciprocal of the chord gradient
