Would you date or be friends with a Conservative

This isn't based on me btw

Yeah, why wouldn't you?
What is this thread even? Getting more stupid by the minute.
Yes, since my girlfriend is not Conservative and I am and we’re together, we never talk about politics anyway

Yes. Nothing wrong with a generic conservative, and in my experience such creatures are entirely capable of socialising normally with other species, such as the left-winger.

Would I want to be friends with someone who's so extreme that they'd cut someone out of their life for having entirely reasonable, mainstream political views? Perhaps not.

As long as their not obnoxious or anything ( most are not ) then sure?
Theres not really any reason I wouldnt. :s-smilie:
Sure, I don't care for politics anyways. Just so long as they don't shove their opinion down my throat we'll be fine. They do that and I'll whip out my reverse uno card and shove it up their ass instead.
Nope 👎
Yes, bear in mind a third of Conservative party members did not vote for Mr Johnson, and probably many of the two thirds who did regret it.

I’m a Conservative member and never voted for Boris, I would rather Hunt was elected.

I'm glad to hear that. Thousands more people would be alive today if Jeremy Hunt had been chosen, I think.

Anybody refusing to have a relationship with someone because of their political beliefs is silly

Someone who is defined as believing in conservatism and is a member of the Conservatives

It's a thread meant to find opinions.

I would have rather we stopped obsessing about hard Brexit etc and kept May - event though she was far from perfect but better than Boris

Not sure about that. We live .... well in London...in one of the most densely populated areas of the world. And I have been working in ITU. I live in central London. People have not been observing lockdown. We have a very diverse population many of whom are BAME.
Yes.

Would you really consider someone's political views (excluding the extreme nationalist ones EDL/BNP) a deal breaker to an otherwise great match?

I actually very nearly voted Conservatives in the December 2019 election, my friends voted Labour but they couldn't care less. We have the freedom to vote for whoever we wish without fear of social exclusion.

If your girlfriend/boyfriend would dump you over your party choice, they evidently don't have their priorities in the right place and actually quite emotionally manipulative/controlling!
