Is Tooting a generally good area to live in? Is it safe to walk alone in the evening? The Google images make it look a little dodgy but I’m not sure. That’s where my uni hall would be so I’m really hesitant whether I should go for it or not. But at the same time I’m sure I would make friends who go to the same uni/class as me so maybe I wouldn’t need to walk alone all that much.

Tooting is usually safe from serious violent crime during the daytime but I wouldn't recommend living there.
Endemic antisocial behaviour, littering, spitting, verbal aggression and far too many low level sexual assaults after 1pm.

Not my preferred area in London to live in. I have been to Tooting a few times. Guess it is ok generally during the day but not sure about night time as I have only been to meet friends for lunch there and a bit of shopping.
