Extenuating circumstances

Because of the virus I've had to move back home from university and I still have exams online. However, I'm finding it very hard to focus as my parents are constantly arguing and it gets me down and I just haven't been able to get much done because it disrupts me. I can't stand having to be stuck here for the next few months. I just get very affected emotionally by it and it demotivates me too.

Do you think this will be a valid reason to apply for extenuating circumstances? I just worry because last year, my first year, I did really well and got a First overall, and I'm worried this will negatively affect my grades.

Either toughen up and work round it or as an alternative go and see the GP and get some advice on possible depression, anxiety and MH issues due to the home situation. Let your tutor and department know then put in a claim for EC asap.

I will probably have to let my tutor know. How should I present this in an email? Do I need to explain all the details or should I just say 'due to family issues'? And I saw on the uni website that I would need proof but idk what proof I can get for this...

As I said you need the support of the GP to confirm whats happening and the effect it has on your MH plus effect on your studies.

Look at the EC rules.
