haplogroup and haplotype genetics

Can someone in here explain me what a haplogroup and haplotype is? so far i have understood, a haplotype is a group of alleles inherited on the same chromosome by a father or a mother. And a haplogroup is a group of haplotypes. I dont know if im saying correct and i still dont really get what they are, but could anyone in here explain what haplogroup and haplotype exactly is? plz im in very need of help to understand this :-)
