Its great to hear that you are interested in studying English Literature.

Firstly, make sure you refer to the course specifics in your personal statement. For example, maybe there is a module on Literature during Victorian Britain, then talk about how much you love authors such as Dickens.

Also, show you personality during the personal statement. There may be a hundreds of students apply for a course so show that you are more the just qualifications and a good reference from an employer. While these are important its also good to show who you are as universities are looking for students who can flourish at university.
