Poor A-levels in unrelated subjects, how to recover

Hello all

When I was studying my A-levels, I was a terrible student. I wasn't focused and didn't really care, as at that time my only goal was to become a musician. Unfortunately, I realised too late that not only was that ridiculous, but I also don't want a career in music at all, so ended up with bad grades.

I'm 22 now and studying a degree in Chinese language, but that was really a last resort thing. If I were to decide to go back to an English university, what can I do to recover from my previous A-levels?

My real interests are Anthropology and Archeology, but no universities will accept my subjects or grades. Is my only option just to redo my A-levels?

I would appreciate any suggestions!

You could try and contact the universities you are interested in and ask them what they would want you to have, and if you could apply. They might want something history related (or at least knowing the basic bits they are not likely to cover) and possibly biology. But your best bet is to contact the universities individually and ask.

Contact universities directly. Liverpool, for example, offers a course called Go Higher, and a lot of students use that as a springboard into archaeology degrees.
