can i apply to be an independent student if i live with my partners parents

So I have been living with my partner and her parents for about 5 years, the whole time I have been working and I am currently starting uni this year, so i noticed that i might be able to apply for an independent student as i provide and pay everything for myself for more than 3 years. first am i right in saying that i can apply for this or would living with my partners parents affect this at all, also if i am able to get this how much would i be expecting to get. thks
