best pill for spots n worst for depression

hi
i was on dianette to start with, 1. for the contraceptive and 2. for my face spots. it helped lots but obviously you can only stay on it for a short period. my spots are more frequent now ( not loads but makes me uncomfortable) and i am on marvelon (can't remember exact spelling!)
was wondering if anyone had better skin with other pills. also did anyone find they got depressed on marvelon? not sure if its my pill or my life!
thanks

All I can say is dont go for microgynon. I got on it a few months back, and my spots have increased tenfold. :frown:
Microgynon sent me into a pit of depression!
Microgynon can cause depression?
I'm taking marvelon and my spots are horrible. When I was taking femodene I never, ever got a spot on my face, ever. They're those really deep massive buggers that hurt when you move your face too.. I've got five now that i'm aware of :frown: It doesn't make me feel down at all though, I have a feeling that femodene might have done a little.

I've heard accutane works wonders. The before and after pics I've seen are amazing! but it can cause depression however it really does get rid of the acne!

Im on some sort of antibiotics Tetralysal, i think!!!
They're really good, although they can prevent the pill as working as a contraceptive!!
ya i was on tetralysal before and it was brill! came off it tho as my spots cleared up. kind of need to contraceptive part tho!

Same. Plus they made me sick.

I can say though, personally celeste has been good for me. I haven't been depressed with celeste and I have barely any spots.. I used to get them on my chest and back, as well as my forehead. Now I have hardly any. But everyone reacts different to things.

My friend is on dianette because the doctor said it would be better for getting rid of spots.

I'm on this, and it helped clear up my acne hugely... I was v. depressed but I think that was due to my A-levels, as I've cheered up now.
Tetralycal 300! it's amazing

Really? I've had the opposite affect. Not sure if my feeling down is the medication's fault, though. The spots are awful now, though.

I have been on tetralysal for my complexion, and it worked brilliantly! It does reduce the contraceptive effect, though.

Is tetralysal an antibiotic then? I was on oxytetracyline or whatever it's called, which worked well, but I stopped taking it a while ago.

I'm not sure if the acne clearing up is just my growing up and balancing out, as I'm almost 20 now. I did still get it on Microgynon quite badly at times but it didn't seem as bad as before. Maybe talk to your doctor about switching if you're having side effects?
For spots, ask for ZINERYT! That stuff is awesome, its a lotion
i have a repeat perscription now
I'm wondering the same as the OP as well as for weight gain. I wish Dianette could just be used long term :frown:

I was on roaccutane but that has to be perscribed from a hospital. Its what to do if all else fails lol and i mean all else. It worked brilliantly but i got depression and had to come off it
Who told you that you can only be on dianette for a short time? i've been on it for over a year now, and my doctor says it's fine to continue. The only reason doctor's say to stay on it for a short time is because it's so expensive, which is why they're so reluctant to give it out in the first place.

Yep, its an antibiotic.

Since I'm taking microgynon for heavy periods (and its working like a charm!) my doctor is reluctant to let me switch to something else... Either way its like a win/lose situation!
Im still unsure as to whether or not it is microgynon's fault or if I'm just looking for something else to blame!

i've heard yasmin is meant to be really good for spots and acne xx
Every pill reacts differently to every woman. There is no pill that is "good for this symptom" or "bad for this symptom" - everyone reacts to it differently. Generally, if you want less side effects, you're better off with a lower estrogen dose pill, but it wont garentee anything.

I had horrible mittelschmerz on Ovranette, but my friend on it has never had any problems. I had great skin on Ovysmen but it made my friend bloat. I've never had any trouble with Marvelon, neither has my mum. Marvelon really suits us it would seem - but that's obviously not the case for everyone.

You have to keep trying pills until you find the one that fits your body. But other peoples experiences mean nothing.
