so I’m really confused with these ucas points.
Last year I got a UAL level 3 diploma in creative media in digital technologies with a pass. I understand that’s like 36 ucas points. But then within that course I got these credits for modules to which I thought were also ucas points so I’ve applied for unis thinking that was the case. I’m studying a ncfe level 3 entry to public unformed services to which I don’t have my grade yet but I’m guessing it will only be a merit. I have 5 GCSEs not including maths.

Am I right in thinking the credits I got in my media course will not count to the entry requirements or ucas points?

Hi there!

I completely understand your confusion - when I was in college I undertook a BTEC and thought my module credits were UCAS points. This is not the case. You obtain UCAS points through your final grades. So it is your pass in your course that holds the value of the UCAS points.

GCSE's do not hold UCAS points unfortunately.

To caluclate how many UCAS points you have or may get, use the UCAS points tariff calculator : https://www.ucas.com/ucas/tariff-calculator

Hope this helps!
