:flute: yes :creep:

well... no... obviously that would be stereotyping... but it is the most expensive, luxurious... BEST house in pollock halls... it is frequently referred to as a hotel...

not everyone there is a "toff" (whatever definition you may have for them). like everywhere, there's a mix... but yeah... its probably true that MOST people there are.
Does Chancellors have full length mirrors in the rooms?

hmmmm...

yes, i think so. its most likely anyway... i've never been inside, but i've been in rooms in turner house and holland house, and both had full length mirrors... so i presume if they have them, chancellor's court will do too! sorry, i'm not very useful... i don't even stay at pollock!

Coolio. Iv not been sent accom forms yet but iv got an unconditional offer. Do you knowif you can actually state which hall you want to be in or do you just state pollock and they pick from there?
Yes they have a big mirror and a mirror the bathroom. It is really like a hotel and yes most people who live there have a reputation of being well....yahs...(sorry!) There are some really nice people who live there though! Also they have a tv in their rooms when they get there, but if you want to keep it you HAVE to buy a tv licence!!! Hope this helps! :top:

erm... i didn't want to stay in pollock, so i didn't really take any notice on the form! i don't remember there being a choice of which house you'd like to stay in, but you can choose whether you want en-suite... and that affects which house they'll pur you in. so i think you probably just put pollock halls at the top of your list of preferences... and then you list which self-catering places you'd like to live in, if you don't get in to pollock.

i know there are pollock halls people on this forum somewhere who'll probably be able to help you more than me!

Massons and Holland both have ensuite too. Im in masson as i had to have ensuite for a medical reason and the people in here couldnt really be described as 'posh' - im sure garfield will agree with me!Chancellors court does have a bit of a reputation though!

cool, am glad im not the only one!!
just out of interest, how did u go about getting the ensuite? My school (head of sixth form and some teachers who i speak to personally) are going to contact Edinburgh, and i will have supportin medical notes from the hospital etc. But how does the university treat it? are they relatively understanding?

I just put on my accommodation application form that i wanted ensuite and then wrote a note on the bottom explaining why. I didnt have aprolem getting a place as there are three houses (that i know of but there may be a few more) that have ensuite. I think the allocation people do try and take notice of your requests particularly if there is a specific reason for something. Especially if you include a hospital note etc i would think that you wouldnt have much of a problem.
