Hello, I will be starting uni in September 2020 at Royal Holloway. Does anyone know how much would it cost to commute from Hillingdon to the campus? Also would it be cheaper to live on campus instead?
Thank you!

commuting will be cheaper, invariably, but you need to work out the route since we don't know where you live or if you have a car, and then you can calculate train prices/fuel/etc

Thank you for replying! I just wanted to know because when I went for an open day that the train prices from Feltham to Egham were pretty expensive. So I was wondering if there is a student discount that I could get?

There's a 16-25 rail card you can get that gives you discounted train tix. I'm sure theres a student bank account that offers it as an incentive for joining them - otherwise I think it's £30 per year.

you'd get a season ticket, or at the very least one that includes more than a return journey

Yeah it is pretty expensive. I also wanted to get a car but I think it will add up to the same amount of money regardless because of the high insurance so I dunno 🤔
