Working out uni average help

Hey - I was wondering if someone could help me figure out my average for my degree if possible.

So first year there six modules worth 20 credits each, and this was the same for second year. In final year I had 4 modules worth 20 credits each and the dissertation double weighted at 40 credits.

Just wanted to ask how to figure out the average?

Thanks in advance!!

So first of all calculate the average for each year:

1st year: given every module has the exact same weight in its easy just add all your scores up and divide by 6, this will be your average.
i.e if you scored: 72,78,69,60,73,55 to calculate: (72+78+69+60+73+55) / 6 = 67.8%

2nd year exactly the same.

3rd year ll are equally weighted but one is worth double so add them all up but double the score of dissertation and divide by 6.
i.e if you scored: 78,69,60,55 in 20 credit modules and 72 in the dissertation you would:
(78+69+60+55+2x72)/6 = 67.7%

So this will give you 3 percentages. But you need to lookup how your uni compiles your final grade, but most do this as some weighting between second and 3rd year. so if your uni does a 60/40 split.
then you would do: second year mark x 0.4 + final year mark x 0.6.

You need to lookup your unis methodology.

No problem im sure you’ve figured it out.
But if its 60:30:10
Then its 0.6xfinal year+0.3x2nd year+0.1xfirst year.

I also worked it out this way is this correct

So first year I got 52, 60, 64, 62, 63 and 68 to get 369 ÷6 to get 61.5 x. 1 to get 6.15

In second year I got 57, 64, 65, 63, 63 and 66 to get 378 ÷ 6 to get 63 x. 3 to get 18.9

In third year I got 57, 62, 62, 63, 67 and 70 to get 381 ÷ 6 to get 63.5 x . 6 to get 38.1

So 6.15 + 18.9+ 38.1 to add up to 63.15 - Is that correctly worked out?? Sorry to be a bother just want to keep myself right

Yes this all looks good! (assuming you got 62% on your disso hence why it appears twice as that is 40 credits not 20)

Congrats on your 2.1!
