Because they aren’t forced to do anything and everyone else is now stuck at home too (apart from people that can’t work from home so they go to work)

I don't think it makes them feel 'good' about themselves as such, but it might make them feel less bad - if that makes sense!

am I correct in thinking NEETS means people not in education atm?? like just finished alevels, GCSEs etc?

No not in education employment or training, you can be a NEET at any age, providing you have reason.
