Yeah, fascinating route there Boosh. Had a look at it and it seems really useful. Might give myself a year before getting involved though just to gain more 'PhD confidence'.

Yeah I know what you mean about confidence!

If you do. Make it known why! That'll put the cat amongst the proverbial. And to be fair, I thought it was a requirement to have RON in an election in the HoC? Or at least good practice.

The whole place is a joke at the moment.

I'd rather slip out quietly again. It is, but he forgot.

Oh dear deity. It's like the monsoon season here again :frown:

Ooooh! Best tell my girlfriend, she has been looking forward to getting a new wardrobe (and the men's section is rather nice sometimes too...)

TBH I can't see why you'd have RON in any vote anywhere. The Electoral Reform Society think it's a load of ****, and TBH the only place it really exists is in student unions as some archaic leftover.

She can, and she does it fairly well. The best fights in the HoC are between her and grape, because they're actually somewhat interesting. I'll go and read through the UoL/grape bitchfest. I bet they're patronising each other over some silly technicality that doesn't actually make any difference to the bill as a concept. (Also, I'm this close to leaving Labour now, upon discovering that our leader hasn't been voting.) Oh, and Vesta namesearches, she'll be along to read this shortly. :yy: (Hey Shaks.)

oriel historian
 I know, and Vesta can more than look after herself it's just well he is a particularly prime example of a hinderence in the HoC.

Oh and UoL & Grape are off again.

:ciao:

Yeah I thought it was a little odd and un-HOC-like, but I couldn't be bothered to argue it. (Hey Mike & Mr Historian)

Ahh ... but this is some kind of a student union :P Besides, sometimes RON is preferable.

It's never preferable. If you care, you just make damn sure someone decent is running, and if not, then run yourself.

Depends. I've been the returning officer on occasions when it would have been entirely preferable to have someone else. I couldn't run then or interfere.

Is anyone else bored out of their minds and wishing september would just disappear?

You poor thing. I'm spending a few nights getting up to mine. I move in on the 21st, but I'm leaving London on the 18th and spending time with various people I know on the way there.

October for me too. The 13th to be exact. Though I worry I may go insane from living at home with nothing to do before that.

Am bored stiff. So bored that I spent an hour at work on my day off gossiping  Still don't know when my course induction/registration is either. Have about a week to kill between going up there and when the course is meant to start.

I'm so bored that I'm posting in Study Help. That's big news for me. There was an important question about Einstein's train that I managed to relate to Back to the Future. It made me happy.

I'm so bored, I'm writing an article for a journal having a go at other historians.
