Question about PwC Flying Start Degree Apprenticeship Salary

Scroll to see replies

do they look at ur personal statement when they are going through your application?
would it be fine if I write an accounting and finance personal statement as uni of Manchester offers the pwc program in the name of 'business accounting'
so is it like the uni accepts u on the basis of ur predicted grades and then u have to go through the pwc assessments and interviews which are fairly competitive

also I read somewhere that you'd be expecting a 7k salary for they yr2 and 3 placements with accommodation covered in most cases

yeah writing an a+f ps is calm
uni look at both ur ps and predicted grades (like normal ucas process) then if ur all good they transfer u to pwc application process
pwc application process is games assessment, video interview and assessment centre

accom is provided for yr2,3 and 4 placements in most cases yes and around 7k per placement or summin
so would it not be an issue writing an a+f statement as the degree is called 'business accounting' at the uni of Manchester and 'accountancy' at uni of Nottingham. alsoo are u a graduate of the program or are u still doing it and if yes which year are u in rn

thank u

Hi, how long do PWC take to reach out to you after sending your application off on UCAS? I sent my application a month ago, UoB has acknowledged my application but I haven’t heard from PWC so far. x

You first receive an acknowledgement from the university, then they send another email to tell you if you were shortlisted (my son applied to Queens and received both emails on the same day shortly after submitting the application). In the second email there are instructions on what to do and deadlines but the first step is to submit application directly to pwc. Check your spam folder or contact the university to admissions to check if you missed anything.

curious as to how long you spend at uni vs at work given the salary is quite low compared to other apprenticeships?

Majority of time is at UNI but every term you spend 3 months at work. So in a year around 3 months is spent at PWC and the rest at Uni. You will do this 4 times(if you're on a 4 year course for Uni) each year. And at the end, you get offered a job if you performed well during your time at work (PWC)

I’m sorry if somebody answered this but how much do you reckon the salary is. The whole appeal of degree apprenticeship is the degree with no debt to your name after completion but if it is this setup doesn’t that mean there’d be debt at the end of the for year course if your only doing 3m/yr

Ye I think so(debt at end of year). But not sure if the salary is enough to cover it, don't know how much you get for each 3 month placement.

It isn't a degree apprenticeship in the way people normally mean (for the accounting scheme - the IT schemes are different).

Exactly!!!!!!!!! I’ve been given an offer for flying start in Henley business school, uni of reading.........the placements in yr 2 and 3 will last from around mid December to end of March whilst in yr 4 it’s slightly longer and will last from approximately mid November to end of March.....I’m not sure how much the salary will be but I can tell u for sure it’s not gonna be anywhere near 12k and 14k

so how much did you end up earning because I just got accepted to that exact same degree
