Hey there.

I was wondering if anyone found a good DIY solve or something that exists to stop the light from the hallway shining into the room through the bottom of the door. My private student halls have a very sensitive motion detector that turns on the hallway lights that shine through the entire flat's bedroom doors.

I've tried putting some paper along the bottom of the door but it just scrapes and makes a really unsettling noise lol

Yell at it. The pesky light should go away, but only if your firm.

You could also just pile a bunch of clothes down near the crack? I think your overthinking it.

I'm being metaphorical, obviously. A light can't look antagonizing but it can be unpleasant!

There are draught excluders which can normally be placed against the door to prevent draughts. Maybe this will work too with light.
