its 2.5 miles apparently. i rang up accom office a minute ago and they can tell you if its en-suite or not. i bet your as scared as i am, but its a well nice place and ill bet it'll be fun
Rooms which have a letter then 3 numbers e.g. A1.11 are en suite (blocks are from A - M). Rooms in Oxley House and Bardon Grange are shared bathrooms; their room numbers tend to be e.g. Oxley House 1.01, or Bardon Grange 01.
Have a look at last years facebook group to see some of the things that went on at Oxley. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2401531655 And if you scroll back through posts from previous years you'll see a lot of people who really enjoyed their year there.
Remember that there will be 440 of you with a bar and gym on site, you've got 1100 people at Bodington half a mile further up the road, you're on a bus route from campus and town until 3 in the morning and you're near the start of the Otley run.
But if you do decide you want to go into private, have a look at the Unipol website www.unipol.leeds.ac.uk. They have lots of private places listed including most of the private halls of residence.
so, Bardon Grange it is. I'm excited yet nervous at the same time. The distance seems a bit of a bummer mind, no rolling out of bed 15 mins before lectures for us...

I've heard the traffic on the main bus route is awful, maybe bringing my bike is not such a bad idea. Is there anywhere to store it?
I applied for Central Village but I got Oxley instead. The location is a bit worrying but the price and the facilities are good so I'll just have to make the most of it!

The thing with location is that the definition of 'long' varies from person to person. If you come from a big city like me and is used to having to travel 30-60 minutes to get anywhere then the 20min bus ride from oxley to uni seems rather small.

However if come from a small town and is used to everything being close to you, it's completely the opposite.

Anyway, what block did you get assigned?
