I don't think the teacher will be biased if they don't like you and I think if they are a new teacher, another teacher will have to check the calculated grades they have put.

yeah I'm not too worried it's just he gave me the wrong grade for a test twice and didn't change it after he said he would

I was hoping there'd be a thread like this because there are a few I have no clue about
English lit: 9
English lang: 9
Maths: 9
Physics: 9
Chemistry: 8/9
Biology: 9

I'm happy that I took RE last year and got a 9, which did make me feel more prepared for this year, though I am relieved that we don't have the stress of exams

How have so many people already taken some of their GCSEs?

Some schools teach gcses over 3 years starting at year 9. And they allow students to sit 3 of their options not core but options at the end of year 10. They will then continue teaching the other core subjects like maths and students will sit the exams at the end of year 11. If you r lucky enough, some schools also allow students to take an addition option in year 11 like 1 year short courses and u will sit exams at the end of 11

Hiya,

English Literature (AQA) - 9
English Language (AQA) - 9
Maths (AQA) - 9
Biology (AQA) - 9
Chemistry (AQA) - 9
Physics (AQA) - 8/9 (we never finished the waves topic so I've no clue how my teacher will evaluate the grade)
French (AQA) - 8 (I'd love a 9 and could've got one in the exams after revision but I got a really low 8 in my listening mock. Also, I was one of only three people in my class predicted to pass so I was never challenged enough)
Spanish (AQA) - 8
Religious Studies (AQA) - 8/9
Photography (AQA) - 7/8
History (Edexcel) - 7/8

Honestly I'm one of the people who's expected to get mines across the board but without the exams to prove it, the numbers don't add up. Good luck on results day!

Don't compare yourself to others lol GCSEs mean nothing in the long run

Reply 70

Ahhh ok, I am really unsure what I will get for them. Originally, I was certain I’d get all 8s ad 9s but now I’ve started overthinking and idk anymore. I’m going of the assumption that I can’t be given less than my mock results. Anyway...
English lit - 9
English Lang - 9

Does anyone want to retake any in the autumn exam series?

Reply 72

It depends on the grades I get. If i will take the exams, I'll decide after results day and revise later too

English Language:8/9
English Literature:7/8 - I was predicted really bad in Yr 10 but got a new teacher
Maths: 8/9
Further Maths:7/8
Biology: 9
Chemistry:9
Physics:8/9
RS: consistent 9
Latin: IDK AAAAAH!! i didn't revise for my mocks and so am wallowing in fear and anxiety: 7/8/9
Computer Science: 8/9
History: 7/8 my teacher was nice but bad and I just didn't enjoy the subject because the class constantly were talking

I wish my school was stricter with options, they're just like "Oh go choose whatever..." If only i'd been forced to take a language or given more than 3 choices but I still think I'm eligible for medicine (hopefully) with my grades. Only ones i'd consider retaking is either History or Latin cos i'm annoyed i didn't get to redeem my mocks

Wow top grades in latin!!
Atleast you didn't have to write the exams though, unlike me who still has to do them next year.
a good use of labor omnia vincit...

Your profile picture scared me😂 and omd SATS, I hate how teachers think our GCSES are related to our SATS. We're not year 6s anymore🤦*♀️

I'm yr 12 now, but I always thought hose predicted grades were just for the government to use to see if you made a consistent amount of progress from yr 7 to yr 11. My school had separate predicted grades that were teacher done and our SAT and CAT test predictions were our "minimum expected grades"

How are people so good at English?? I revised so hard for it but it's my worst subject :frown:

Your teachers were probably really hard on you. Mine was & we all got 5s, 6s & 7s and we were in top set😂. But then he gave us all estimates of 7s/8s/9s so you’ll be fine!
