When do I apply for university if my results are coming on October 2021. Am I counted as a year 2021 or a 2022 student?

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland the university application process is that from October of any year the system opens up (UCAS) and students are required to register and apply for up to 5 places at universities. All applications to be made by the end of December. From January onto March universities will invite candidates for interview or make offers without an interview. Students sit their exams in May and the results come out in August. The University term starts mid-September and runs until July the following year.

I am not sure why your results are not coming out until October 2021? That does mean that you cannot apply via UCAS until October 2022 since if you apply in the 2020-21 cycle the university course would have started before your results are released.
