Wolverhampton Podiatry

Is Wolverhampton good for podiatry, in terms of education and employment prospects?

Would it be better to study at Southampton, or Northampton for employment prospects?

Due to the difference in living costs, I am trying to compare for differences in employment prospects, and quality of education.

I really wish you recieved a reply to your question as this would have helped me out considerably.

Out of curiosity, where did you end up studying and why? As I'm deliberating between the same.

Go onto the NHS jobsearch and type podiatry band 5. Don't go to uni to come out the other side with objective of starting a business.. Two massive hurdles... personally I wouldn't want to work in someone else small clinic either , seems very limited in opportunities with no real job security and your working to build someone's else dream.

Good morning

Thank you for your contribution to the thread.

I very much agree, I've been looking on NHS job search for months now and would prefer to work in a hospital setting or community outreach.

What uni did you choose to study at?

I have a choice between northampton and Wolverhampton atm and really prefer northampton as they have their own clinic, as well as smaller class sizes. However wolverhampton do practice blended learning which would be more practical within a hospital setting. But obviously huge class sizes with less opportunity to interact with the lectures.

Northampton would also mean way more financial sacrifice, even with the nsh bursary.

I study Mental health nursing, we all have NHS jobs in our local healthboard and we have not even graduated yet. I recommend it.

In contrast the pediatric Nursing student don't have jobs , they are being told they might need to move away etc .

Trust me it's good to know u have a career and guaranteed income after uni without having to compete with 40 other ppl for every nhs vacancy.
