Do you study human physiology and biology in your course? if so in what year and what university do you go to? Is this a common thing for BDS courses?

A cursory glance at BDS section of university websites would answer that question. The King's site shows that in Year 1, students cover Biochemistry, Physiology, Tissues & Organs, Head & Neck & Thorax Anatomy, Oral & Craniofacial Biology, and Histology, on top of all th dentistry-specific modules.

It's required for all dental students to be aware of general bodily anatomy and physiology, as many medical conditions affect the mouth and vice versa. Why do you ask?
