Does anyone know much about the sport science course here?
Contact hours, is the teaching good, job prospects, etc?
And how are the sports - specifically athletics?
Also whats the area like?

Hey I studied sport and exercise science here couple years ago and I loved it! The Headingley campus at Beckett is so nice I recommend going to an open day. In terms of the course I thought it covered all aspects needed for a broad experience in all jobs that can lead for sports science (nutrition, psychology, physiology, bio-mechanics) but like all unis you get what you put into it.

Thanks a lot thats really helpful!
How did you find the degree? Is it quite challenging? Is there anything you recommend brushing up on before starting?

The first year I found fairly easy but then it got progressively harder in 2nd and 3rd year but I guess it depends what you've done at 6th form/college. Theres plenty of people that manage to sail though doing the bare minimum but youll have to put in the hours and attend lectures if you want a respectable 2:1 or 1st. What are your other options?

Hello, ive just got a job in the NHS as a trainee in gastrointestinal physiology so its really broad, however the most common ones are data analysts, teaching, physio, sports nutritionist. The core modules are in nutrition, bio-mechanics, physiology and psychology so you can look into jobs that link to these
