hi, could anyone help with this 12 marker it is for revision and I'm really stuck I could do with some points and explanations if possible, I would be really really grateful thanks

‘Christians should never be wealthy.’ Evaluate this statement. [12]
In your answer you should:
• Refer to Christian teaching
• Give reasoned arguments to support this statement
• Give reasoned arguments to support a different point of view
• Reach a justified conclusion.

Hi!! Did RS gcse last year and I'm just bored rn so it may not be that helpful but here are a few points you could consider:

-Christians are taught to be charitable and giving - charity is known as an essential component to faith. You could also refer to to Lazarus and the Rich man here's a link if you need to read up on it http://request.org.uk/jesus/teaching...eds-of-others/
-Jesus always taught the importance of helping those who are poor
-Liberation theology is a movement set up by the Roman Catholic Church which was set up to solve issues such as poverty and injustice

- For against: in Proverbs it says "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous." so you could just argue that Christians are allowed to be rich so long as they handle it responsibly and are giving.
- here's a website for bible quotes on wealth some can work as against but most are for the argument https://www.openbible.info/topics/getting_rich

I think just taking the charity and giving approach will work fine, hopefully this helps
