Movement of people made these difficult and they came out off but I still like them regardless.

That picture needs no editing-it's incredibly beautiful! 4*
Just wanted to say thanks for your comment again! I actually ended up submitting it for a competition on Amateur Photographer and instead got it appraised and printed in their magazine this year

(as far as I know, and I may well be wrong).
Yeah, about that. You've got the jist of what aperture is but you dont need a low aperture to have a soft background.

It is all relative to the focal length, lens diameter, focus distance from the lens to the subject and the distance the subject is from the background

Almost all compacts I have set my hands on have a low f-numbers (around f/2.8 or lower)

All shot at f/16 (a very, very small aperture)

Almost everyone on the internet has seen the bubble burst photo before. So I'd put money on saying that you didn't take it. Try again. Try harder.

The deepest circle of hell is reserved for those who plagiarise. So disappointed right now.

The bubble is brilliant. It must of felt really good when you finally caught it bursting.
The only one I have is of New York. I guess it's ok but nothing special
