Perhaps I wouldn't have used a blue light at the same shade as your dress but that is only a minor point - loving everything else about it :yep:

My Danboard finally arrived. This is by no means a good shot, it was just a quick snap to show others that it had arrived. Can't wait to get messing about with it in photos.

What is that and why did you purchase it if you don't mind me asking?

Hehe it's a danboard, it's just a poseable figurine. I've seen people take photos of them on Flickr. They're pretty rare (have to order them for a high cost from hong kong ebay sellers) and look great in photos.

This is wonderful. How did you get that colour tone ? (bear in mind I am not a photographer so might not understand the technicality but tell me anyway because i am interested. i like looking at photographs and interesting ones that make me stop and think)

What I like about this is that you managed to turn something crap like a chain coffee bar in England into an atmospheric romantic place, more like a Parisian cafe (particularly with the faintly glamorous female barista). But instead of Van Gogh's painting below, which is purely a romantic night cafe (no edginess) you have captured wheelie bins in the 'dark outside' where he has painted cobbles and people.

I think the wheelie bins show the scene then for what it really is, a cafe Nero in england.

So then this almost breaks the illusion of the Parisian cafe feeling but not enough so that the scene is unattractive, just real. The wheelie bins, the reality, is necessary to make this photograph beautiful because otherwise it wouldn't look amiss on a cafe Nero marketing leaflet.

    I think it is beautiful.

A photograph taken by my boyfriend with a Canon 350D and 50mm lens.

It's just photoshop. My boyfriend has an eye for colour tones so is able to make things look so lovely.

ssk2 i very much like the first one, but the second one.. it's nice too, but I think the penguins don't stand out much because the background is so similar to their colour.
