Modules being discontinued while in the middle of a degree?

Does anybody have experience with modules being discontinued while they were in the middle of a degree course? I'm planning on entering the Psychology with Counseling degree course either this fall or next February, but I've noticed that some of the later modules (Investigating Psychology 3 in particular) are likely to be discontinued before I get to them. Would this leave me out of luck? Do they simply substitute in a new required course and just have you take that one in its place? Would I be expected to start a new degree?
Modules are generally replaced with either a revised version of the current module or a more up to date content as theories/practices evolve in the area of study. You would not have to start a new degree-just your module options will be slightly different by the time you get to them.
