Hi guys, just did my UCAT and got a result of 645 (2580 total mark) + Band 1 in SJT. I would really like to apply to Aberdeen to study medicine but I am not sure if they would accept a UCAT score like mine - they haven't made it too clear on their website what kind of score they're looking for (they mention that they don't have a minimum cut off :/) - any advice would be great!
Just to clarify, this is for undergraduate entry 2021.

Are you a Scottish, RUK, EU or international student? I need more information outside your UCAT - your stats (if you feel comfortable discussing it)

I'm an international school leaver student and I calculated my score using one of the scoring scales I found through an FOI. I found that my pre-interview score was somewhere around 130 (I couldn't figure out how exactly how Aberdeen scores the UCAT). My UCAT score was 3150 and I was wondering if you could help me with how many points you think I would get for this kind of score out of 60? Could you also please tell me if applying with a pre-interview score like mine is risky or not?

Hey, I haven't done my UCAT exam yet but I really want to apply here as I love the area and the city overall. Fingers crossed I get the score I need to get a interview

Potentially going to apply to Aberdeen, grad applicant with 2.1 BSc and doing PhD currently. 742.5 B1 UCAT. Only worry with Aberdeen is how much they use previous academic attainment which I can’t seem to find much info on

This is how they use your academic attainment:

No problem, basically you are very good. Plus your UCAT score is more than amazing you should definitely get an interview.

If want a guidelines of people that have got interviews - this shows school leavers' grades, the applicants' nationality, academic background and UCAT and whether they got a interview or not

When it comes to international students, Aberdeen's application process is slightly different from RUK, Scottish/EU applicants. They have a minimum UCAT score and grades which they then interview (as they accept a small amount of international students) then base their offer on their interview ranking https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/medical_school_admission_interna_13

Hey, do you think 131 out of 155 as a score is decent enough to get an interview?

I believe so as according to their FOI response (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a100_selection_process_2):

Total score for an RUK applicant invited to interview in 2018 – 115

Total score for an RUK applicant invited to interview in 2019 – 110

If you are a Scottish student then the total score would be lower. (I will look for the exact score)

Has anyone managed to find a FOI on how they score Scottish students pre-interview? I can only seem to find the ones for A levels and IB...

I was wondering if you were completely sure about how the university assesses international students? This is because the document you have linked is for St.Andrew's and not Aberdeen as well as this FOI https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...tistics_and_pr which clearly shows international students getting pre-interview scores the same as uk/eu students? I have also found this FOI (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...s_a100_scoring) where Aberdeen says that they score Home, EU and Overseas students in exactly the same way.

This was for St Andrew's
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...ion_interna_13 is the link I was meant to send but since I had so many tabs open I accidentally selected the wrong link. I sincerely apologise.

I selected the wrong link as I had so many tabs opened (by accident) this what I was meant to link https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...ion_interna_13 and https://www.abdn.ac.uk/smmsn/undergr...sions-data.php so I believed their point system was considered slightly differently (unless the country does IB/A-Levels then it would be the same points) in the same way graduates/mature students have a point system but for different set of criteria (based on their entry requirements).
