If I remember correctly, you are allowed more characters on the MBBS Malta than on UCAS so you could add another paragraph if you wanted to, but the max number of characters is listed in the application portal so do check before submitting.

Does anyone know if any financial support is offered I know the fees are much greater and it says no student loans can be taken has anyone found any other way around this?

If finance wasn't an issue, QMUL Malta (like Buckingham) would be much, much more competitive .

Every med school has a bottleneck, whether it's UCAT-heavy, BMAT-heavy, GCSE-heavy or having to pay full fees (e.g. Buckingham or QMUL Malta).
