Hi there Oxford students! Hope you are enjoying the wonderful summer weather!

To help prospective Oxford students on TSR, I have written a book called Oxford Demystified. I have included several chapters on myth busting, how to apply, state school schemes, etc, but the real stars of the book are the students and offer holders, who have told us in detail how they have got into Oxford for their own subject. Having answered my questions about their experience, they have posted their stories and have had fun talking to, and giving advice to future applicants.

At the beginning of lockdown, I made an appeal to current offer holders for help. The result was phenomenal, and now I have the following chapters:

Medicine
German
English
History
Hist/pol
Economics and Management
Chemistry
Biochemistry
PPE
Experimental Psychology
Maths and Philosophy
Maths Sole
Human Sciences
French and Spanish
Engineering
Maths and Computer Science
Physics
Earth Sciences
Classics
Geography
Oriental Studies

A chapter for music is also in the pipeline.

Please see the link below if you wish to take a look at the book so far:

It is my ambition to help as many students as possible, by getting chapters for every single Oxford subject. So far our readers have been very grateful to receive a lot of detailed information about each subject.

However, the following subjects still require chapters:

Law
Biology
Biomedicine
Philosophy and Theology
Fine Art
Archeology and Anthropology
Classical Archeology and Ancient History
History of Art
Materials Science
Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics
Theology and Religion

These are the questions I have asked previous chapter writers:

Why did you want to study your subject?
Why Oxford?
Did any of your teachers inspire you? Or any other expert (TV presenter etc)
Which resources did you use (please name as many as possible) Which books/journals did you read? Which did you like best, and why? What did they teach you?
Did you attend any lectures, or take part in any competitions? If so, would you recommend them, and why?
Did you have any work experience? If so, how did you find it?
Did you have a specialist subject/EPQ? What was it? How did you go about your research?
What did you mention in your personal statement and why?
Which techniques did you use for the entrance test?
How did you choose your college? Did you go to an open day and if so, did it help you to decide?
How did you find the interview process? (NO INTERVIEW QUESTIONS PLEASE - this is against TSR guidelines)
Any interview tips?
Did you socialise during interview week? If so, what did you do?
How did you feel after the interviews?
Where were you when you got your offer? How did you react?
Are you looking forward to coming up to Oxford?

Obviously you are already at Oxford, so rather than saying if you are looking forward to it, please tell us what you think about your course and your experience of Oxford so far.

This book is free and only available on TSR. It will not be published or used for commercial purposes.

I will tag below current students who may be able to help. If you have any friends who are also on TSR who could help with any of the above subjects, please ask them if they would like to contribute.

Thank you so much for reading this.

All you have to do is create a thread called Oxford Demystified - (your subject), post it, and tag me into the thread. I will post some extra resources, and also tag in prospective candidates for your subject. Once I have your thread, I will add it to the rest of the Oxford Demystified book.
