so you're not even in secure employment and you're betting everything on one company?

nowhere near smart.

Do you think you're the only person that knows about next generation consoles coming out? That other investors haven't already priced that in?

Well Im of the opinion you're always better off buying something tangible like land, property or gold.

Also ngl putting all your money when you are on furlough probably wasnt the best move

I have brought the actual stock for the current market value? I don't see I can possibly lose money aslong as I wait to the first couple months of 2021 to sell once the price has exploded due to all the consoles being sold as remember that both consoles have AMD hardware in them

I didnt mean buy property specifically. For this amount Id buy land over stocks but thats just me as I like to have tangible assets rather than something that could vanish overnight

Ah ok.

Any example land? Are there fees involved with land purchases?

AMD don't appear to have a UK listing -- from what I can see they're traded through on NASDAQ in the US, various markets in the EU, and in Argentina. In each case shares appear to be priced in the local currency.

This means that as well as being exposed to movements in the share price, you're also exposed to the foreign exchange risk.

So that means that if the share price in dollars rises by 5%, but sterling's value against the dollar rises by 6%, you've made a loss even though in dollars the shares are worth more.

Are you sure it wasn't over £100k?
Or was this mortgage you needed for another property?
