Manchester 😂😂
20 years ago maybe, but now it’s a cesspit of hippies and hipsters (like London). So, it would be a bad choice.

I think Scunthorpe should be the new capital
Or Sunderland which is Britains Brexit central. I think most of TSRs Brexit loving debate and current affairs members would agree with that.

Bradford imo.
I think even the Labour Party just collectively gipped at that thought.

Make the capital city the dirtiest, poorest place, so that place will improve because of it, increase the quality of life for those living there, then move it to the next place that needs it. Obvs this doesn’t work in real life, and you can’t move buildings and commuters around etc, but in a hypothetical world I like this idea.

I would move the Lords to Edinburgh, the Civil Service to Cardiff and would probably lean towards making York the capital given its history though i don't think i could leave the Palace of Westminster vacant.

If we are choosing a core city to be the capital though then Liverpool-Manchester-Leeds-Sheffield-Nottingham are the choices. All geographically and economically joined.

Interestingly though if we are looking at the highest population within an hours train ride outside London then Hebden Bridge actually holds that honour.

Calling back to our Roman roots, we should make Colchester the capital.
