What does charming mean? and Would you say that english girls (in particular) are charming? I know it's a crass generalisation but your views (from both sexes) would be appreciated-

Dazzling eyes and a stunning smile will have me intoxicated (if the alcohol hasn't already :hubba:)

Seriously, those two, and I dunno, i have something w/ voices. of course besides the obvious physical attraction :yep:
Hmm, why English girls in particular? I could understand asking such a question around war time, when things were actually charming, but nowadays most English girls behave no differently than anyone else - some are classy, some are very extroverted, some are trolls, etc. etc., just like the rest of the girls in the country.

Bleh, I'm just curious

That's very interesting you mentioned the war time... because i think charm is one of the things people find hardest to define, perhaps because it is least seen. How would you explain it and how do you thinks people have changed in terms of charm between now and the time you mention?

I like your description... but what do you think about charm and is it seen much? What do you think it is in a person that makes them charming, male or female?

Depends. For me thier prams and stuff put me off pretty quickly. Then seeing them squatting down outside being sick doesnt really do it for me either. Walking past them shagging in the street doesnt get me going much either. Short skirts also are a wild card.
They are also usually fat. No harm meant to those who arent.
So no. As a rule they arent what most people would call charming.
Same as any country really, depends what region you're in. In any given country, you'll get the educated, witty, well-dressed young ladies with decorum, humour and pride in their looks.

Then you go a few miles away and it's "Eyyyy, Donna you slag, gimme me fookin' pint back or I'll shag yer bloke an' that, waaaaaaaah! *dances on pub table while having more-than-just-chunky thighs be molested by the entire village and their grandfathers*"

lol this seems like the extreme also pointed out by EducatingBrogan.
And the ordinary girl next door? I'm not talking about physical appearance but the way they treat you... Do they have 'joie de vivre' when you talk to them (on average)? Tell me a nice anecdote if you have one.

being a male, i'll talk about females :p:

I dunno, perhaps a bit unorthodox, I like the shy ones that are really outgoing once you get to know them. Loud girls are fun too--but as for charm, that does it for me

eye contact and taking compliments well w/o throwing back compliments are me that I know are BS, I laaaaike...is naice! Oh, and heels :yep:

And why is it?
Simple answer: some are; some aren't.
I am supposedly an "english girl" being born in London but I'm scottish and hungarian so not really. Anyway I don't consider those girls who go around getting rat arsed and acting like "ladettes", burping, whoring and living off benefits "english girls". They are not what the true english are about-its a sub-culture they're proles in my eyes. Its sad that real english girls don't exist much these days. But the charming english girl does still exist. By the charming english girl I mean a girl who is well educated, classy, well dressed, polite and posesses a joie de vivre and a dry sense of humour. I've met those sort of girls and for some reason the majority of them seem to be from well off backgrounds. But having said that, I don't ever think money can buy you charms. I've met working class english girls who are also charming-its really subjective.

And why is it?

8 cans of Strongbow for a fiver down the "offie", and the discovery that lying sprawled on a wall with your tights round your ankles, roaring out the chorus of a Cascada song and dribbling vomit is likely to get you laid (by the ever-charming boy racer/drooling 60 year old population of your town)

Though I'm only speaking for the rougher ends of every ****-pit in Britain, you understand  some of us are actually lovely.

That's a really truthful answer... The reason I asked about english in particular (forgive me if this isn't the right term) but I know scots, welsh and n-irish who are charming in its true meaning. This isn't to say i haven't met attactive, well educated, well dressed english women because i think i've seen right through the scope from north to south etc.

About it being subjective, well i suppose it is but what would you say if i asked are the french in general charming?
