well, for me, we had awards evening in November and got them there... So I'm guessing schools will have them by then? A friend of mine got hers in Jan... Depends on each school I guess

Depends on school. Ask your school.

Ok, cheers. Knowing my school we'll all be fossilised before we get them.

Guess they need to make sure all the grades are set in concrete (i.e. after remarks) before sending out any certificates..

So, is the Certifcate very similar (in appearance) to the Provisional Results Slip we've received?

I'm pretty sure it's not, Toby. As far as I'm aware it's a lot more fancy (i.e. decorations) and there are also more security measures taken on it (watermarks etc). Oh, and I think we get 1 per subject?

I got one per exam board but that was for the summer 2006 exams which were the last set for the previous specification so it may have changed with the current one.
HEY i need some help... i've lost one of my as-level certificates. i know that cie is fu..ing strict and they don't hand out replacement certificates. i want to make a good impression to the interviwer of warwick uni and i was wondering... how does the certifying statement differ from the original certificate? is there a huge difference as far as design is concerned? i'd like if he wouldn't notice that it's different to the orignal. so tell me, what are the differences? PLEASE E-MAIL me as i might forget to look here as i'm asking now many many people regarding this issue.

No exam board will issue a replacement certificate but they will all supply an official Certifying Statement of examination results (for a fee).

The certifying statement looks nothing like an examinations certificate. Interviewers will have seen many of these things and will not be phased by the fact that you can't find the original.

Will I get the certificate for GCSE Statistics (that I did in Year 10) on the 27th with other results for exams I did in Year 11? I thought I'd get it last year but I just got a slip saying what I got, never a certificate.

Certificates are issued in November for exams taken in the summer.
You should have got your statistics certificate last year, check with your school exams officer.

Are they actually that important? I mean, they could easily check what I got right..?

Yes. Employers and admissions officers at colleges and universities may ask to see your certificates to prove which awards you have achieved.

No, they can't easily check.
If your certificate is lost get a replacement/substitute.
