Hello. I am meant to be starting a degree at a Scottish uni in a few weeks but I don't want to do the course I applied for anymore and want to apply again for next year. How would I go about doing this?

You will need to contact the uni with a good reason why you aren't going to take up your place. Have you considered asking the uni whether they will let you switch courses? Scottish unis in particular can be pretty flexible about this because the broader based first two years of the degree programmes mean you don't really specialise until Years 3/4.

If you do decide to withdraw and re-apply you will also need to tell the Student Finance people.

    Thanks Minerva
I have thought about this and am meeting my advisor this week to discuss it, but since I applied for a law degree with French and want to now do English and French and missed the deadline for arts applications it seems I would have to do my normal course (law) with arts stuff, but it doesn't look like the stuff I want to do fits in so I would be stuck .
