Sorry for any graphic details.

I’m on the birth control pill, and I usually get my period on a Saturday, and it’s usually extremely heavy and bright red.
However, today I’ve experienced extremely light bleeding, but the blood is brown ( old blood?)- no red blood at all. Is this normal? I’ve never experienced this at all and I’ve been on this pill for over a year now and I am slightly worried if it could be a sign of pregnancy? Am I overreacting?

Sounds like it could be old blood it's not uncommon for your cycle to mess up on birth control.

Any bleeding associated with pregnancy (implantation) is usually bright red or pink and very light so it doesn't sound like that.

If you are concerned you can take a test as it's the best way to find out

Thank you

Do you know of any affordable tests I can take, but still reliable? I’ve looked on amazon and Superdrug but most of them have bad reviews and I don’t want to fork out £10 for a clear blue one!
