because when white people say it it's usually because they don't like said races and are racist

when BAME people say it, it's usually because they feel more comfortable with their own ethnicity

It's the same with both white and BAME people. Culture and background are the playing a key role when you select where to live and who you socialise.

Your assumption is the first paragraph is just ludicrous and laughable 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁😁😁🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Yes
Culture + Values are what matters...

Most white people who want to live with other white people just want to be surrounded by cultural familiarity.. people who celebrate the same fesivals, like the same hobbies + food, share the same history/experiences/outlook etc. They use white because its an easy generalisation - the chances are much higher that a white person will share their culture+values then a non-white person. The race itself doesn't have anything to do with it, its just a lazy and racist shortcut to finding what they want.

(the rest, who aren't the 'most' are just racists..)

its not about racism, its just culture. the reason a lot of white people live with other white people and a lot of asain people live with other asian people, is because of culture. thats why a lot of chinese people live in china town.

if you were brought up in a british household, not many people would want to move to a place where everyone eats different food, has different social events etc..

SO move to a place with a similar culture rather than focusing on race. most black people i met have an extremely similar culture to white brits, especially 2nd/3rd generation and more black people

that's because the only black people you've spoken to have the same culture as you.....
you realise there are white people with different culture than your right ?

You dont even know anything about my race or culture. also i live in an area full of white people, yes asians and middle easterns and east and north africans do have a big difference in culture than white brits, but carribeans (especially 2nd and more generations) are extremely interegated and literally have literally the same culture as white brits, thats why most interracial marriages are between black carribeans and white brits. look it up (btw im not black carribean or mixed with it, so dont assume)

Is it racist to want to live amongst mostly white people if you are white?

They have a programme about it on the telly every afternoon.
It's called "The white flight show"

Well actually it's called "Escape to the country" but it may as well be called that as the vast majority are white middle class people and I have never seen anyone moving to a more diverse area from where they currently live.

Yes it is 100% racist IMO (same goes for BAME people who would rather live near and hang out with other BAME people purely because of the fact that they are BAME).

No. Asians and black people like living with other Asians and blacks and it’s no different with whites

says who ?

Forgive me but those two sentences seem like exactly the same thing simply rephrased though.

I do find this idea that 'bame' people cant be (or are less) racist than whites somewhat odd though. I mean, I have yet to hear any form of evidence to back up the idea that pigmentation gradients have an effect on one being racially prejudiced. The true irony being it seems to be non-white countries (to take an extreme example) who are the most expressly racist in both thought and deed. Take Malaysia (expressly racist in their constitution), India (caste system), many African countries who make a point of slaughtering tribes/peoples they don't like and so on so forth. Thats not to say whites arent racist, but to say they're somehow ipso facto more inclined to racism? Well.

why you generalizing africa and non white countries

No as other ethnicities live amongst their own. As long as you don't have an actual hatred towards others.

its racist . just because other ethnicities do it does not mean it is okay

I think people misunderstand the word.. "racist" Here is the definition"a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another"

Does your question fit this? No of course not, It would be the same as saying your black friend asks if you want to hang out and u say no and he would accuse you of being rascist.. it. It doesn't work like that.

Wanting to only be with one group of color is perfectly fine and is what ALL of us have been doing, We black stay mostly with black, white with white, Asian with Asian and there is nothing wrong with that (I'm talking about most of the time not exclusively white and white)

As long as you don't treat anyone differently purely because of their color then that is NOT racist. And the word has been used too freely lately
Life in the UK is different depending on your ethnic identity. For example, if you are Black, you are more likely to live in poverty, and more likely to be subject to racial insults and hate crime than if you are White.

This is fundamentally why it's a mistake to judge an attitude in one group or person as if it was identical to a similar attitude in a different group or person. For example, we might think it reasonable for someone who has recently been severely mauled by a dog refuses to leave the house when they can hear a dog barking. But if the person has had no such experience, we might judge it to be abnormally anxious.

Before making judgements about people, try to understand their experience.
depends on why you want to live with other white people. if it’s because you fear other races/are uncomfortable around them then it would be.

Why would fear or discomfort be racist? Both subjective.

if a person fears/is uncomfortable towards another race, without knowing the person, just because of their race.. that’s racist.

if someone said they didn’t like a person, felt threatened by them just because they were black, without meeting or knowing that person, that would be prejudice.

You can't rationalise fear.

It’s definitely racist because what reason could you possibly have to only want to live amongst a certain race ??

Culture my friend... culture.
I would have to say no, just hear me out.

Racism requires a degree of antagonism or prejudice. The inherent human desire to live around people similar to ourselves is a natural and usually subconscious phenomenon. This applies to race, language, religion, and other factors. A white person naturally being attracted to areas in which they are a member of the majority is just as natural as a black person preferring to reside in an area in which they are the majority.

On the other hand, you do of course get racist people who outwardly admit that they only want to live near white people because they dislike people of colour. This of course is racist.

I have to disagree with the assumption drawn regarding the TV show though. There are a number of pull factors that would persuade someone to move from urban areas which tend to have a greater non-white population, to rural areas where the statistics suggest a much whiter population.

So I suppose ultimately whether or not it's racist or not is dependent on the individuals motivations to move.
