University of Sussex Opinions/Experiences?

Hello,
I was wondering if any former/current students of the University of Sussex could tell me their experience of the university.
I was ready to firm my offer from US for social work until I read an alarming amount of bad reviews for the uni from this year. So it would really help me and give me peace of mind.
I wasn't able to go and visit due to applying late and Covid 19 so this makes my decision harder. I am attracted to the diversity of Brighton but am alarmed by the amount of reviews saying that the university is bad, doesn't care about their students, there is no where to socialise and the facilities are bad

Hi
I don’t go to Sussex university but I live just outside of Brighton and can tell you that the culture here is so accessible and vibrant! I’m doing a MA at Brighton starting in September and I went for a tour (back in February) and saw the city campus which is where arts based courses are (I’ll be doing inclusive arts practice MA). There are good facilities including lockers, big studios, library is apparently really great with loads of resources and the location is fantastic for transport and the beach!

I am just coming to the end of a 1-year MA at Sussex. I highly recommend you reconsider your choice. We lost six weeks of tuition this year due to strike action. That means, of 21 weeks of teaching we didn't have six of them! Devastating. I then found out that this is the THIRD consecutive year that this strike action has taken place, though I was not warned when I applied or had my offer accepted, and it is highly likely that there will be a fourth year of strike action in 2020. The university will not give you compensation for lost teaching.
