Hey
My school and my life sucks
I'm doing A-levels (im year 12) and i regret doing them. I have no interest in my subjects and i get such up and down test results (A-D) that i dont know what im doing. I dont have any career plans and the one thing i want to do i am unable to as i dont have the qualifications and i have health problems so i can't do the job. i have no other interests and choices for uni or jobs. Im so sad, ive fallen out with most of my friends over the lockdown from us all being overly sensitive and now im all alone at school. i literally cant be bothered cause ive tried to improve my life and grades and i worked so hard in gcse just to feel so **** now. im so empty.
does anyone else feel this way

yup. life sucks.

but what sucks more? when you're upset about it.
nothing can be done. juts enjoy. go party (not now cuz corona but u know what i mean)

don't put so much of your self worth on grades. I do that a lot, but honestly you can have an amazing life without having good grades. remember you can always retake.

Babe, dw, it's gonna be okay. Well. I can't promise that, but I do look up those crappy quotes that are like "when there's rain, there's a rainbow" or that sort of thing. But yes, quarantine sucks. It's making people feel like ****and will probably stay like this for the next year or so. Just think about all the good things that you DO have in your life--whatever they may be. And it might be hard but you'll find one eventually. Just keep thinking happy thoughts (cringey I know) but it will get you through the tough times

I agree.

Life's ****, our parents should be paying fines for brininging us to life in the first place.

And there is no irony in this statement.

maybe find something that does interest you, I think your boredom is making you feel this way. Life is such a blessing from God and I really do believe things will get better for you. I pray for your happiness, God Bless truly

I don't think to bring God up and start a religious debate is a good idea, let's keep things agnostic.

Exercise and education are free.

Get out in the countryside for some fresh air if you can, and train for a half marathon. Or a 5k if the former is too ambitious.

At the same time, download some lectures from the Teaching Company's Great Courses, or from the many University sites (Open Harvard, Open Yale, etc.) and learn something new. The great thing about audio lectures or podcasts is that you can learn as you exercise. Pick a subject and give yourself a year to become a bit of an expert on it. The added bonus here is that if you ever get asked in a job interview for your interests, you can list the usual *******s such as socialising with friends, sports, cinema, etc. and add something like "19th century European History" or "Russian literature" and be able to talk convincingly about it.

Learn a language - again there are so many resources online. You may then find you can join online groups or societies for conversation practice. Set yourself the target of being able to read a graded pre-intermediate book in your chosen language in 12 months' time.

Learn a music instrument - again, free lessons for everything online. Pick up a cheap guitar, or a harmonica, or a kazoo. Set yourself targets. Pick a song you want to be able to play in 6 months time. Push yourself. Music is very sociable, you may end up making friends through music - even on line. There are plenty of on line communities of people learning instruments, and musicians.

Read the classics - so much classical literature is available on free ebooks. If you want something focused, do a bit of research and pick an author - try read five or six of their books. Perhaps becoming a bit of an expert on an author will give you a little confidence boost. Again, if you are going for a job, if you can tell your interviewer you've got a particular interest in an author, and you can then chat for a bit about their books which you enjoyed most - it makes you stand out a little from the crowd.

And remember - you didn't exist for billions of years, when you die, you will cease to exist. but for this fraction of a cosmic instance you are able to experience the universe. Even life's little pleasures should be marveled at - small social interactions, the noise of the city, the sights and sounds of nature.

As a great man once said "Enjoy every sandwich".
