Private candidate sitting A Levels

As a private candidate intending to apply to university once I’ve taken my A2 levels, would I need to also take AS Level?
If you are in England, no, you only need to take A-levels. The exams you take will cover the entire two years of content. (ie. including the first half that is shared with the AS level) AS grades no longer contribute to the final A-level grade, if they are sat.

If you're taking exams in say, Wales or IALs with Edexcel - you will need to sit AS exams alongside A2 exams.
