The rise and fall of CHOP/CHAZ

On June 8th, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ, was established in the American city of Seatle, Washington State. A so-called, by Seattle's Mayor Jenny Durkan, street party and potentially a 'summer of love'.

CHAZ, also known as CHOP, took over five and half of the city's blocks, centred around the East Precinct building.

Called 'largely peaceful' by many mainstream news outlets, except for the fact that guns were being handed out to its population, and2 people dying, including a 16-year old.




June 30th

Authorities have successfully pushed the people out of the area

The dead 16 year old's family and anybody who had their property or businesses trashed should sue the mayor and city officials into the ground for allowing this absolute farce to continue for as long as it did

Yup. It should have been dealt with quickly and swiftly when the precinct was under attack.

I heard that the Police Chief was asked to stand down, which I will try to find the article for again.
