If you had supported votes for women in 1906, would you have supported the NUWSS or the WSPU?

Of course I would have supported votes for all women, but then I would also have supported votes for all men seeing as the vast majority of men that went on to be slaughtered and gassed in France in WW1 didn't have the vote either.
Just as in the famous photograph of Pankhurst being arrested by a police sergeant there are two people in the picture that don't have the vote.
Still at least there was only ten years between all adult men and all adult women getting the vote.

Very difficult question but I’d say that the WSPU was instrumental in that it drove the issue into the hearts and minds of the public. The NUWSS furthered the campaign as a political agenda which can’t be downplayed, but considering the WSPU were outnumbered 10:1 with regards to membership figures, the exposure they gave the campaign was profound.

We must however remember that terrorism was key to furthering the agenda of the Women’s Social and Political Union. How do we reconcile that with todays thinking?
