    So, @ around 25mpg over around 12,000 miles the volvo will cost me about £2500 in petrol over a year.

    If I were to run the MGB V8 for a year (9mpg + same 12000 miles) it'd be around £6,900. No wonder I could never afford to do half the jobs on it I wanted to do!!!

    I also do a lot of fuel usage working out on mine, I don't drive as economically as I could do, I tend to drive more with safety in mind. Offical stats say I should be doing 50mpg, I tend to make around 34-45 mpg depending on whether im doing long distance, running on a higher % of chips etc...
    I don't really worry about fuel costs as I get it stupidly cheap anyway :p:

    I keep records.
    - Just write the millage on each recept and zero the trip meter after.

    I have spend £1050 on a total of 6800miles since January.
    - Dont have records of parking tickets, but i dont pay to park much...
    - Also ontop of the obvously Tax, Mot, Part for full service, and a cambelt change.
