Hi,
I got grades for my two components in Data and Statistics
45/100
60/100
I am currently studying 1st year Business Marketing
These grades will give me a pass overall? should I worry?

If you are on an undergraduate programme then the pass mark is 40%.
You will be taking 120 credits in any one year. A module can be worth 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 credits. Typically modules are worth 15, 20 or 30 credits. You are only sharing the marks for two modules. What about the other modules?

You should be worried, worried about your work ethic....and putting yourself in the mindset that your at the bottom of your class obviously...and that you need to be fighting for your marks from here on out to prove yourself in 2nd and 3rd year. There is indeed little room for further complacency.

But no you haven't failed from these two modules.

40% and above is passing.....but your performance is rather poor for quantitative modules where obviously marks are easier to attain since there is a definite right or wrong answer.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I definitely need to work on my ethic and overall my attitude towards University. It differs a lot from College...
2nd year will give me an answer if I should do it or give up and start work full time.
